What is Jupeb?
Jupeb stands for Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board. Registration for JUPEB 2019/2020 session has started. The JUPEB Programme came as a result of different Universities uniting to provide an alternative option of admission of secondary school leavers into tertiary institutions without JAMB.
The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) was certified by the Federal Government of Nigeria in December 2013 and established formally in April 2014 by a group of partnering universities led by the University of Lagos.

JUPEB is Proven:
JUPEB Programme has been tested and trusted as a grear alternative to secure Admission into Nigerian universities. Yearly, over 20,000 students register for the programme and not less than than 70% of them gain admission into their preferred university to study their desired course.

JUPEB Programme is Certified:

The Nigeria University Commission (NUC) has accredited the programme as an advanced level examination programme that qualifies students into 200level without JAMB UTME

How Does Jupeb Work

We have found that candidates loosely refer to the IJMB learning centres as IJMB schools. So, we have come to identify such term too. IJMB registration centres differ from our IJMB learning Centres or IJMB schools as candidates normally call it. IJMB LEARNING CENTRES are the various places where registered IJMB students are placed to go through IJMB Programme for t 9months.
We have REGISTERED AND ACCREDITED IJMB LEARNING CENTRES in the states and cities below :

LAGOS
PORT HARCOURT
ILORIN
IBADAN
UYO
ANAMBRA
EDO
ABUJA
There is ongoing work to see to it that we have IJMB SCHOOLS in every part of Nigeria. We plead with candidates who live in places where we currently do not have both IJMB registration centre and IJMB learning centres to bear with us. They can apply to other places with running IJMB LEARNING CENTRES.

UNIVERSITY OF UYO

HOW TO CALCULATE IJMB GRADES
An IJMB student can enter for three (3) courses that vary depending on whatever course they choose to study in the university. Meanwhile, candidates with a deficiency in O’level i.e English Language or Mathematics can also remedy these subjects while doing IJMB programme.
IJMB GRADE POINTS:
70-100% (A) = 5points
60-69% (B) = 4points
50-59% (C) = 3points
45-49% (D) = 2points
40-44% (E) = 1point
39% below (F) = 0point
For example a student who registers for 3 subjects with grades such as 75% in PHYSICS (A), 62% in CHEMISTRY (B) and 51% in BIOLOGY (C) will have his/her grades calculated thus :
PHYSICS which is A =5points
CHEMISTRYwhich is B = 4points
BIOLOGY which is C = 3points

This will result in a total of 12 points. Also, each student who doesn’t fail on any of their registered subjects gets a bonus point. In the case of the student with the above stated results, one point will be added to the twelve points, 12 + 1 =13points.
The average points required for admission into most courses in most universities is 8 and 9 with the exception of LAW and MEDICINE which is usually 13points. Some universities even accept as low as 6 or 7points for some courses. Here is the average cutoff for your preferred course.
